Deleting files off old HDD to use as storage

Explosion0

Can I delete all the files off an old HDD to use just as mass storage?

Yeah, you can. But it would be faster and better in the long run if you formatted it instead.

Hey there Explosion0 :) Welcome to the community!

AS the guys explained, a quick format would be faster and more effective. This basically deletes the partition table that has the data of which data is where on the drive and creates a new one enabling the drive to overwrite the old data with the new one. :) This should take just a few seconds. Feel free to ask if you have questions about how to do that or anything else! :)
