FM2+ ends with the 7850K

I'd suggest either waiting for Zen and Icelake or going for an i5 4460 + H97 board

So I currently have an AMD A10-7850k that works for me pretty well. I would however like an upgrade eventually, and I feel I should gain knowledge before I rush out to buy anything. I know that I should probably go with an Intel i5 or i7, but changing a motherboard seems a bit intimidating. Is there any reasonable upgrades within the Socket FM2 that I could go with?

There is no upgrade path on the FM2 platform,they released the a10 7870k,but its the same chip as yours
