Hi guys. I want to overclock my AMD FX-8300 (motherboard: 990XA-UD3 Gigabyte). But when  I increase the voltage HIgher than 1.265, The speed clock will go down at 1.4Ghz. I heard there should be an option in bios like APM Master Mode which should be diseabled but I can't find it in my bios (I found it on internet on a similar bios, but I couldn't find it in my bios... I don't know why). I posted 2 photos to see what I'm talking about. Any help will be very useful. Thank you guys!

PS: I don't overclock from bios, because my PC reboot everytime before starting properly and I think this is pretty strange.

Press the green cirlce in the top right, it will glow red.

that forces the cpu to run at max speed.

I tried, no difference....

Something is wrong then, I'd suggest using the UEFI.

I don't relly know what UEFI does or where should i found it, more instructions, please?

I'd suggest doing a bit of background reading before you go ahead and overclock then, but the UEFI is commonly called the BIOS and can be accessed by pressing "DEL" repeatedly on your keyboard when you start your system (before Windows).

It looks a bit like this:

I didn't knew BIOS is also called UEFI, anyway, I fixed the problem. I removed my battery from the mainboard and I try again after with AMD overdriver, now the clock stay where it shuold. Thank you very much guys for your effort

I know you said you fixed the problem, just figured I'd weight in though.  There is definitely bios settings that you can turn off that will stop the thermal throttling on FX processors.

Mine would throttle close to 70, dropping it's multiplier down to 7 and yielding a measely 1.4 Ghz.  Of course that is way too hot for an FX processor, so it shouldn't be pushed that far all of the time.

If you have the problem again you can try adjusting bios settings. Also, I'd overclock within the bios if you have the options.
