A tool like MSI afterburner or HWmonitor should reveal usage of the GPU that you could assume was it working on the render

Hey guys, i'm trying to render a video in Premiere, but since i'm using a Maxwell based card. I'm unsure if its actually using the GPU, is there a way to check?

As the previous post said, use some sort of hardware monitoring program to check GPU usage.  However it's hard to say how much the GPU is helping you with the render as Adobe does not utilize GPU acceleration for everything.

Well if you want to know how much it is helping, do a render with it on and one with it off (just on the CPU) and compare times.  Should make a significant difference I would think

That could work. Additionally the OP should check that the GPU is an approved one or add it to the list. And Google instructions for configuring performance in Adobe.
