How durable are brushed aluminium finishes on cases? I really like the look of them but I'm worried about fingerprints being stuck on it by accidentally touching it or something like that. I'm looking at the FT03 Mini in particular. For those of you with brushed aluminium cases would you care to share you experiences with it?

I had one. after 6 months I couldn't stand it after seeing my finger prints on the edges of the case.

Has anyone tried power washing brushed aluminum to see if it cleans it...?

In the case of the define r4 with the brushed aluminium front it's fine for me. It has like one fingerprint on it and i can rub them off pretty easily. I don't see why you would need to ever touch the front of the case since there is nothing on it and the handle to open the front is on the side. So basically if it's only the front I find it to be 100% fine.

The define R4 uses a fake brushed aluminium finish, I think its actually plastic.

Define R4 is actually plastic. IMO I think it's a better option than actual brushed aluminum.

That's good to know, I put hockey tape on the part where you open it so my fingers have something else to touch. I was wondering why I could clean it so easily, I couldn't even tell it was plastic.

My experience with brushed aluminum has been bad. It looks so good for a week, but then general use ruins it with oil and who knows what else that floats around. My external hard drive has an aluminum finish, and I only pick it up with a rag now.

I once was a poor man, but then I found a crown.

grab your white cotton gloves for that case.. the anodizing and plus the porous ally

makes it double trouble for the finger-prints. building one is the PITA, but once done

shouldn't have to touch it again except RMA or upgrades.
