Best 400 euro budget gaming card, R9 390 8GB or GTX970 4GB G1

piros

Hi, I know they are both amazing, I know that 970 favours witcher 3 and 390 Gta 5

I still can't decide which is more future proof for my non overclock 5 year system , GTX970 4GB G1 Gaming or R9 390 8GB Gaming

Also I m hardcore Gamer and I read that 390 has a heat issue, is it going to be a problem for my corsair Builder Series CX750M 80Plus Bronze and corsair Carbide 400R?

R9 390 - 8GB of VRAM vs 3.5GB of VRAM + 390 performs better on average.

390 has 0 heat issues assuming you go with a decent brand such as Sapphire, MSI, XFX or Power Color - Asus and Gigabyte are to be avoided.

CX are a problem for either card. CX are for basic office systems, not gaming PCs - XFX TS 550W is all you need for a 390 or 970

390 Is a slightly better card and It has 8GB of Vram (twice that of the 970). The 970 Is usually a better overclocker though. But before getting either, you'd want that PSU replaced.

The r9 390 is better in virtually every way if you aren't worried about power consumption (which really shouldn't be a problem anyway). It has no heat issues.

Nothing is future proof, especially when talking about gpus. Buy what you need right now and upgrade when it's necessary.

CX psus aren't that great, but the wattage is more than enough, in fact you could run two cards off of 750 watts. I'd change it for a better unit as soon as possible but for the time being it will work fine.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

I would go with a 390 from sapphire. It just mean something else to buy from an all AMD manufacturer :-)

Asus GPUs are currently awful and their customer support is the worst out of all the sellers.

Antec High Current Gamer 620M is a great quality PSU for usually around 60-70eu

OK then, so I really like Sapphire Radeon R9 390 8GB Nitro( not Asus or gigabyte 390)

but what is the difference?

Quality, Customer Support, Temps, Noise

Sapphire excels in all categories whereas Gigabyte and Asus fall short in almost all
