COM Surrogate is not a virus. COM Surrogate is runned by windows for many things, like the properties windows, controlling hardware, ext. However, make sure it's running from %systemroot%\*, also known as C:\Windows\* the asterisk means any subfolders.

What is com surrogate? i have not noticed anything but should i be worried? , i have heard that it is a virus.

It's a Windows process.
