Can I use my PC with this PSU

tomi1

Alright so both my hard drive and PSU died the other day. I've ordered new ones, but the HD has arrived earlier than the PSU.

I have an old 400W Generic PSU with 12A on the 12V rail. I was wondering if it's ok to use my PC with it until the new one arives, without my graphics card connected of course. Just CPU, Motherboard, RAM, hard drive and pheripherals.

MB: Asus H81M-A

CPU: Intel i5 4590

RAM: 2x4gb HyperX Fury 1866MHz

HDD: WD Blue 500GB 7200RPM

Thanks

I think it'll be fine if you're not doing anything intensive. The system will probably only draw 100 watts max.

I wouldnt really suggest that. If you get totally unlucky, accident might happen. It could cause system failure or worst, fire.
