I have 2.2GB RAM usage with only background apps working. (Steam, Mbam, IDM, Synapse)

And when play CS:GO it will become over 5GB.

What can I do to lessen the RAM usage? Because this PC that im using, I will give this to my brother but I'll need the RAM for my other PC. So basically this will only have 4GB RAM.

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X | MOBO: Gigabyte B550 Vision D | RAM: Crucial Ballistix RGB 32GB 3600MHz | GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3070 Vision D | PSU: Seasonic Focus+ Gold 750W

Have you checked to see what's actually eating your RAM? Task Manager will tell you what's specifically using X amount of RAM.

No matter what, you never have "only" those apps running.

Either way, 4GB of RAM isn't much these days, and usage stays high often. I'm sitting at over 14GB RAM used ATM without really doing much. Just a bunch of Chrome tabs, Steam, Skype, Google Keep, iTunes, & Amazon Cloud Drive as "open" apps.

I see. Well I have here my previous 2GB RAM. Maybe I can add this to make it 6GB. Anyway they're both same brand same speed and voltage.

Well that works, too. 6GB should be fine for a generic interpretation of what "your brother" would be doing.

Again - in terms of lowering usage - check and see what's actually eating it and go from there. It could just be that the apps are RAM heavy, or you could have something else running.
