OnePlus X - Got my invite, should I buy it?

I'm currently running an HTC One M7. I got the invite for the OnePlus X today, and am debating buying it or looking at other options. I'd prefer to buy an unlocked phone.

 

First off, I'm in Ontario so prices on cell phones and plans are through the goddamn roof. I don't "need" a cutting-edge phone and I refuse to spend the ~$1000 for the current flagship models.

 

Also, my google-fu is subpar right now (being at work doesn't help) and I'd like to confirm what carriers support the OnePlus. Lastly, it's disappointing that it does not come with wireless AC - is ac that much better than N, that it could be a deal-breaker?

It's definitely one of the better budget smartphones out right now. If you have no need for NFC or 802.11ac Wi-Fi etc etc etc. I'd say go for it but make sure you have a carrier that supports it's LTE bands.
