My mother board is a

Manufacturer PEGATRON CORPORATION
Model NARRA5 (Socket AM2 )

What I would like to know is how much ramm can I go to
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Ive read that I can go to 16GB but will my MOBO handle it?
Mobo specs say:
  • Dual channel memory architecture
  • Two DDR3 DIMM (240-pin) sockets
  • Supported DIMM types:
    • PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066)
    • PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
  • Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered
  • Supports 2GB DDR2 DIMMs
  • Supports up to 4 GB* on 32 bit PCs
*32-bit operating systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory.

Im on 64 bit not 32 and currently only have 4GB

So if I replaced the 2 x 2GB that i have in with 2 of these

Samsung 4GB 2Rx8 PC3-10600U DDR3-1333 240pin Unbuffered Non ECC M378B5273CH0-CH9

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-4GB-2Rx8-PC3-10600U-DDR3-1333-240pin-Unbuffered-Non-ECC-M378B5273CH0-CH9-/161879916686?hash=item25b0cb808e:g:0jIAAOSwo6lWO9rZ

Depends what you do with it.

Using the computer for youtube and other normal stuff then 8GB (2x4GB) is more than enough.

Gaming you should be okay with 8GB (2x4GB) as the paging file will help.

If you want to do serious gaming with max everything, video / picture editing or rendering then get more than 8GB.

It's not a race to the bottom.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual core 5800+ @ 3.0Ghz

Nvidia GeForce GT630 Synergy Edition

2 x 2GB(4GB total)Ramm

I do game on this,I play Star Wars:The Old Republic

I run on medium settings excect in PvP i have to set to ultra low

Load times are a little long,Would it be better to double my ramm

or go with a AMD II Athlon X4?

Your settings are low due to the video, not the machine.

In my opinion, you should consider replacing the dual GT 630s with a single video card with more power.

You can for example, pick up a used GTX 650 for pretty cheap and it will give you more performance than those 2 GT 630s.

When you posted above that you have 2 x 2GB vid cards for a total of 4 GB, you possibly misunderstand GPU architecture; Each card has 2 GB of ram but you still only effectively have 2GB of video ram usage, not 4 GB.

Upgrade the video card, give yourself at least 8 GB of system RAM and the Athlon dual core you have will be fine, if you want to bump up to a quad you can but it isn't necessary.

I built a scrapyard machine for my 14 yr old nephew out of spare parts I had around; I work on PCs every day.

He has an old Gateway OEM board (HT 2000 i think), that had a phenom gen 1 x 4 @ 1.8 GHz in it. I swapped that out for an Athlon II x 4 running at 2.8 GHz and added my old GTX 660 to it (I have a 970 now). I added a new 450W PSU because I just had a couple laying around for random possible customer builds. It also has 8 GB of ram.

The GTX 660 provides plenty of power for his needs and keeps him on medium to high settings on most games, although he doesn't play too many triple-A titles on it. The single one that he does play (Battlefield series) has to be turned down a bit but it still really good and just fine for that machine.

Now, that setup does have PCI-E 1.1 in it, not 2.0. That doesn't bother the setup much though, he still has enough power / PCI lanes to play what he wants, he'll just never be able to play on a 1440p or multiple monitors with that setup.

FX-8320 @3.79 - Corsair H80i - Gigabyte GTX 970 WF - Asus Sabertooth - EVGA Supernova 650 P2 80+ Platinum - Thermaltake Commander Black

Honestly its not worth upgrading that system imo. All those parts are really old and you will not find much compatibility with today's stuff.

Also more to the original point you have DDR2 memory on that board good luck find any of that stuff out side of a good will. your mobo is not compatible with current memory just to let you know if you didn't.
