Creating a gaming den!

Hi guys,

 

so im creating a gaming den/ weekend place over at a cottage out the back of my friends house. ive already wires Ethernet everywhere and setup wifi. and have already for a 48 inch 4k tv for the place :D.

 

I will be stripping out all carpet and laynew carpet and painting the whole place. but is would like to know of any great ideas and additions i could add to the place to make the den even better! thanks for every ones suggestion!

Good lighting that doesn't cause glare is a absolute MUST.

Good sound management.

No obnoxious colors.

No windows because f*ck the real world.

Keep your cables easy to access while hidden from view.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

Get a bench, build a pull up bar with some galvanized pipe and mount it high on your walls in there, and get some power blocks so you can get sets in during loading screens or when taking a break from gaming.  Being completely serious by the way.  It's fucking awesome to be able to effectively and easily train and not interrupt gaming time; it's like having your cake and eating it too. 

Oh signature time!  It's on now, gonna give ya somethin snarky and clever and think way too hard about this because I'm really concerned about what people on the internet think of me.  Better google some good quotes to put in here too.....oh wait I'm not a loser.
