PC not recognizing speakers

princedylan101

Any idea why a PC would stop recognizing when speakers or headphones are plugged into the front or back? At first I assumed the speaker was dead or the audio cable was messed up, but have found that both work fine. I have also found that the PC still outputs audio over HDMI, but not over anything else. I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a motherboard or driver error. Do you mean that you can't use headphones in the front port when there are speakers plugged into the back?

Thanks what kept on happening to me.

Turned out to be a faulty cable,

since both devices dont work, it may just be the port jack that is messed up.

also, check your sound mixer, and enable all speakers, bluetooth, whatever.

also try the "test" button

I made sure that everything is enabled in the audio panel and nothing changed.

Everything has been enabled, and the test button doesn't work. No matter the port or device, no audio comes out.

are you sure that the plug jack is connected to the motherboard?

I mean I haven't checked it, but would that interfere with the motherboard audio out?

yeah, no audio coimng to the jack FROM the motherboard = no sound signal, no sound signal =no sound

I can't tell if you're agreeing with me or not. The motherboard's rear i/o has audio out, and it produces no sound. Are you saying there's a cable that messes with that? As far as I know there isn't.
