I would recommend buying at least a 120GB SSD for you're boot drive! You can get them on sale for really cheap because of Cyber Monday!

Windows version doesn't matter as long as it is above 7. You can always upgrade to Windows 10 from 7/8/8.1 later on, so just buy the cheapest version you can find.
