ok, my monitor has a dvi-d input, so if I find a adapter that's component to dvi-d it'll work?

Since there both digital it should work. But I am not %100 positive if a component to DVI-D adapter will work, a converter might be needed. This stuff can get really complicated.

DVI-I and DVI-A is analog DVI-D is Digital. You need a converter because an adapter can't just convert a digital signal to an analog one and vice versa.

DVI-I is digital but supports analog outputs through the 4 pins on the right side.

I'm guessing dvi-I wont work with dvi-d female? If it does I saw some component to dvi-I adapters

Could you post the adapter here? I'll get back to you in ~1 hour.

DVI-I male is not compatible with DVI-D female.

ok, do you know a cheap(-$50) monitor or tv that had component input or some way I can connect the Xbox to it

What kind of resolution would you like? Don't know if I'll be able to find it, but I can try finding something close.

is there anyway I could hook it into the PC itself and have it play through the monitor?

I happen to have found this if your display supports HDMI. http://www.amazon.com/Portta-PETHRSP-Component-Supporting-%C2%A0Windows%C2%A010/dp/B00JVNUAEI/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1449014777&sr=8-5&keywords=1080p+display+component
