Depends what it's for. In general, they're not very good quality.

What are the good corsair PSU's, ive been hearing alot of hate about their psus, why are they so bad, and if so, what are the good ones?

Usually people hate on the CX series because they "aren't good at all." The CX series isn't meant for heavy gaming systems though. Just every day use PCs. CX series doesn't have a high heat tolerance, so when you have it under load for extended periods of time, they could fail. But that's why they aren't for high end rigs  :P

That's all you need to know. It's a beast.

Most Corsair psus are fine.

CS and RM may be a bit overpriced but they are still good.

CX isn't great but it's fine for what it is considering how cheap they get.

The VS series is fine for low-power systems or when there's no other option but there are usually better alternatives.

Some of Corsair's PSUs are top-of-the-line Seasonic units. Things like the RMx and AX series are very good, albeit expensive.

The VS series is okay for low powered systems (like an HTPC), as is the CX series. A lot of people bash on them, but don't really know why they don't like them (people hear the CX series is bad, but don't know why, or don't understand that they're not a fire hazard like a lot of people make them out to be). The VS series is just generally cheap, with cheap build quality, cheap capacitors and so on. The CX series has low temperature tolerances, so it is only rated to operate correctly under 30C, which is really not hard to get to, as well as using not-great components.

CS series is okay, but there's much, much better options for the price. The RM (not RMi or RMx) are good, but overpriced. They're marketed and priced as very high end, but have 'meh' secondary capacitors, while other units for the same price will have full high quality Japanese caps.
