setig up a specific task for a pc

Go to solution Solved by ManIkWeet,

I'd personally just go with any commandline Linux installation...

Setting up ports (portforwarding) is a bit of a bitch, but you can remotely SSH into it with a bit of work, not needing a keyboard/mouse/monitor at all!

so i have a pc laying around and i want to make a server(minecraft) instead of my pc constantly running. i know its not the greatest idea to homehost a server but i have all the electricity and internet i need to do it. so my question is how do i set it up so i press power button and my server starts automatically. i know its not that hard to do but the issue i have the machine is not particularly powerful and i need it to run with out GPU it means no graphics after i set it ip. i plan to control it through teamviewer or something. it only has 2 gb of ram so what would you guys suggest for me i want it to run out of usb stick too if its bios supported of course.

what os should i use to run it the best on 2gb of ram and a pentium 4 2.8ght on slot 485 or something before lga775 (later i will upgrade if i get hands on ddr2)

please help me
