So I am looking into build a gaming rig with Xeons, I know is not super piratical but on ebay you can get some crazy good deals on o bit old Xeon Cpu...

If anyone has a list of xeon processors and there specs please link it. ALSO If you know a lot about 2 socket motherboards please inform me, Ik it requires separate ram and xeons need ECR Ram(Ecc), I am not 100% how this all is put together and how the 2 processors in windows is managed but a list of the Xeons and some info about 2 socket mobos would be a great.!!!

I am really really new to this concept.

I recommend the Super Micro X8DTi motherboard - you can find it used with an I/O shield for around $120 on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/... x8dti&_sacat=0

Keep in mind that this MB has an LGA 1366 socket, so it will only work with X5000 Xeons from 2011, which, to my knowledge, are not that common.

I know is not super piratical...

It could be if you steal them :)

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Look up the Xeon models on a case by case basis. I don't think you can find an exact spec sheet of all of them, but the X5XXX series are all hyper threaded with at least 4 cores. You will need two CPU coolers as well.

Xeons don't need ECC ram as far as I know, but since ECC Ram is a ton cheaper, it would be dumb not to use it. 16 GB hovers $60 on ebay

You will need an E-ATX dual-socket motherboard. Make sure the form factor is E-ATX and not proprietary or you will find yourself looking for a compatible case. I recommend the Super Micro X8DTi motherboard - you can find it used with an I/O shield for around $120 on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1311.R7.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.Xsuper+micro+x.TRS0&_nkw=supermicro+x8dti&_sacat=0

Several full tower cases support E-ATX motherboards, but here is a list from which you can choose http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/case/#f=3

Is that the only mobo available. ik the hp ones are very strict and cant really be used

no socket LGA771 Xeon has hyperthreading, this was introduced on socket LGA1366

The X5XXX series are 1366 CPUs...unless you're referring to the younger models (X52XXX, 53, 54)

Here's the 5570. As you can see, it is hyper threaded

As I mentioned, no LGA771 xeon has hyperthreading the entire 5100, 5200, 5300 and 5400 sequences are LGA771 and don't have hyper threading - if you say "all x5xxx cpus have HT" this will confuse people. I think what you meant was "all x-x5xx" and higher xeons have hyperthreading"

5500 and 5600 sequence are both LGA1366 - both have hyper threading on most chips

Last I looked X5100, X5200, X5300, X5400 Core Based Xeons are all classified as "X5XXX" CPUs so your original statement was incorrect considering those CPUs make up the vast portion of the X5XXX series. That's what he was getting at.

But yes Nehalem based Xeons (and their respective die shrinks) from both the X3000 series and the X5000 series feature SMT.
