Video editing for beginners?

Hey guys! I am trying to learn video editing, can you guys recommend me a cheap video editing software for starters?

I wanna learn it asap. 

 

Some really easy to use software would be Camtasia Studio but thats on the more expensive side

 

Otherwise I would recommend Premiere Elements for $99-ish or PowerDirector 14 for $50-ish

 

Almost any software you choose will have plenty of people on Youtube and Lynda.com with some tutorials

what's your budget? and you can get stuff the "free" way if you dont plan on making any money off the things you make with said software
