I assume by Closed you mean an AiO - versus Open, being a custom. Need specs. Usually a custom loop will be better and quieter, but will cost a chunk of change.

dunna know where they coined those terms as they are mis-used severly in all context..

99% of the water-cooling loops are closed. custom or all-in-ones.

due to evaporation, contamination and aggitation.

evaporation: to keep the coolant from dissapating into the atmosphere

contamination: dust and debris from entering the coolant and possibly

clogging internal passages.

aggitation: if portable, to keep spills and coolant enclosed for a safer ride.

more than likely, they were to mean sealed (maintenance free) for the all-in-ones

Go custom and open....Future proof, as it adds ease of getting newer parts, its a total custom setup, so custom UV colored coolent, compression fittings, any tubing, and you can get a great XSPC Raystorn 750 RS240 open loop kit,, contains pump/res combo, rad, and great block, comes with free clear tubing, and its as much as the closed Kraken x60 by Nzxt...I am switching to the XSPC from the Kraken currently, temps are close to the same from what I hear but custom makes more sense to me...Better on the eyes, it is possible to get better cooling in general, and its easy to add more loops for gpu or anything else. Sick shit man!
