Network Stuttering PC - Odd Behaviour

Here's an issue that I've been trying to solve for quite a few years now.
I have a feeling this may be something to do with my wireless connection but hopefully someone can confirm.

Whenever I'm doing some internet intensive tasks, like updating a game or maybe even downloading a movie, The whole computer kinda stutters.
The sound to my headphones would cut on and off. and the mouse would freeze and stutter around the screen, Music would sometimes freeze too.

It's extremely strange. Sometimes it happens when I'm not downloading a lot too. I could just load a webpage while listening to music and and the music would stutter until the page finishes loading.

I have a relatively new and quite high-end PC which I built roughly a year or two ago.

I've checked task manager numerous times and everything idles quite low.
Sometimes all my Adobe programs can use around 20GB or ram or more. but this happens when idling too.

Here are the specs:

Windows 10
Core i7 3820
P9X79-LE
64GB Trident-X 2400MHz
ASUS GTX 670
512 Samsung 840 Pro SSD / 4TB WD Black
Corsair RM850

I also have a ASUS PCE-AC66 wireless adapter
