Hello guys! I wanted to upgrade my system and get a good 1080p gaming. I mostly play dota2 but I wanted to explore more games.

My current specs:

Processor: AMD Athlon II x3 455

Cooler: Deep Cool Gammax 200

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2

RAM: G-skill RipjawsX 2x4GB DDR3 1600

GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 2GB

PSU: Corsair VS450

Casing: Aerocool VS-3

Monitor: ASUS VC239

I wanted to upgrade my GPU to R9 380.

Others are suggesting for me to upgrade the whole PC instead.

Now I cant decide which Processor I will get in-case I will sell my current one to build a new PC.

Here are a few that I researched.

Intel Pentium G3258

Intel Pentium G4400

Intel i3-4170

AMD Athlon x4 860K

AMD FX-4350

I cant decide whether I will go with the cheaper one or I should spend a bit more.

Or maybe I should wait for more money and get

Intel i5-4590 or i5-4690K

Please help me decide.

Since I have limited budget I dont want to spend extra money but I also dont want to buy the cheap one and get bad gaming.

Edit:

After receiving comments and reviewing everything my choices left will be i3-4170 or i5-4590.

And for the GPU will depend on their price difference. R9s 380 or 285 or 280x.

Thanks for everyone that's giving me idea/information. I am learning a lot!

i3 would be good, but if you're playing new games,  dual cores will die soon

so out of those 860k would be the best

but if you really can,get the i5, that would be golden

i5: if you are not overclocking, 4690k is useless, as 4590 is much cheaper

I cant give exact budget but I can make money for it. I just want the cheapest possible I can get where I can enjoy. I dont want an overkill build for myself.. That's the reason why I cant decide and made a few list.

I would wait to get a 4690k honestly

4690K is the highest among them.. Will it really give big difference in gaming if I get that?

I'd get a r9 380x or 380 and look at other benchmarks and see if your CPU is bottle necking the card.

Yea I will get r9 380. Hm.. Could you guide me where I can see benchmarks on the combination of the Processors i've listed?

I would go with the Intel G3258, it plays well with Tomb Raider with a decent gpu. And I would Over clock that to at least 3.5 or something.

I dont know how to overclock but im a fast learner. Would it be worth it to overclock for me?

If not then the choices will be limited to 860k and 4590.

The hyperthreading on the i3 actually helps in some games :P

I know this seems pricey but its Z170 and supports your DDR3 Ram unless you want to upgrade to DDR4, Its an Intel Skylake Upgrade.

I want to know, should I really invest in quad core? Because for now some dual cores are beating the quad cores.

Thank you I will consider it depending on price difference. Any of those three will be okay for me. If R9 280x doesnt have big difference than the others I'll get it.

then you must have seen i3 beating FX :)

yes, for gaming 4 core is really recommended

i5's are the best choice out there for gaming
