Controller and Razer device issue

So I use a Razer uhhh Tartarus for PC games and macro stuff like windows shortcuts and photoshop. Well whenever I try to play a game now with my Xbox one controller OR 360 controller on the game freaks and won't detect the xbox controller.

 

What the hell is wrong?

I don't have this issue with my Orbweaver - a stab in the dark I'd guess that the game(s) in question view the Tartarus as a controller as opposed to a keyboard and won't accept another controller for P1.

I've seen the option crop up in a couple of settings where it separates the two and unfortunately it looks like you're stuck if that's the case.
