My Asus can't multitask

Hi,

I have an Asus Transformer TF103C which runs Android 4.4, with the latest official updates. The tablet runs quite smoothly when there is no internet connection, but once it's connected it runs more slowly and the biggest problem is that it really can't mustitask. The problem with multitasking happens even when there's no internet connection though. When an application is downloading videos, or even just playing music, everything is paused a few seconds after I leave it. Sometimes, even Android updates are somehow paused when I leave the Store. I know it only has 1GB of RAM but my phone has the same amount of RAM and performs way better in this area. I'm not overusing the device, there are usually around 300MB of RAM available, so this may be an optimizaion issue from Asus (I don't find similar issues with this device online though), or it might have something to do with my own tablet. Any idea how I can fix this? It has behaved like this pretty much since day one.
