This isn't really needed but my old PC parts were:

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 645

Motherboard: Dell 4GJJT

My new parts are:

CPU: FX-6100

Motherboard: Gigabyte 78MLT-USB3

I keep getting a startup repair which keeps looping. I already bought Windows on my old rig but apparently Windows stays on the CPU or Motherboard you put it on. How do I transfer those files to my new PC parts?

Any questions are fine if I didn't specify something.

What are you asking? How to reinstall windows after a hardware upgrade?

You're going to need to reactivate using your serial number once your PC boots.

As long as you kept your HDD or SSD with your OS on it, just swap the hardware and activate.

its the motherboard.

if you transferred the drive, it will probably ask for a key, if you can get in without activation you can contact microsoft support, and they will reset your key for you via remote desktop.

you cannot use the same key with a different motherboard, every motherboard has a hash, and windows associates its key with that hash, so a new motherboard will need a new key, which MSFT customer support can provide for you

i did the same thing when i got my new mobo
