I have been looking for a new computer and I wanted to build a solid budget build.

Here is what I have come up with :http://pcpartpicker.com/p/8D3QkL

a.) Is it good, or does it need changing?

b.) How low can I expect the pricing to be on Black Friday?

Thanks, love this forum

ditch the Z97, you don't have a K-sku chip. Also drop the GTX970 for a R9 390 for a full 8gb of VRam and better performance other than that it looks ok

There are other reasons to use a Z series board...

Might consider tossing the DVD-rom - unless you want to listen to your 90's cd collection - unless you have a specific use in mind, almost all SW is either downloaded or USB based now days.

Might disagree on the R9 390 suggestion of starcoaster - extra ram only helps if you're gaming at 1440 or 4k, and even then the 390 has only ok performance on the more power-hungry games, like Witcher 3.  Consider it if you want higher res. and don't mind turning down the video performance settings a bit.  If you want ultra, then even the 390 will have problems with some games.

All of the side by side comparisons (2, lol) I've seen of the Witcher 3 at 1080p show the 390 getting around 40 fps, and the 970 getting about 50 fps.  But that is largely dependent on what games you play.
