GPU for a Photographer?

I have a photographer friend looking for a $450-ish GPU to push a 4K resolution monitor for RAW image file editing in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.  Any suggestions?

a 960 should be enough

 

but you can go for the 450 mark with a 970, 980, 390

Save the 50 bucks and get a 390, make sure it's a good brand like the Sapphire or MSI as all 390s are not created equal.

 

And as a Everett boy you shouldn't be drinking Starbucks, Rock City is way better.
