Hello guys i just have quick questions concerning this gpu that i will happen to be buying soon:

Would it be bottlenecked by my q6700 3ghz (8gb ram)

If yes how much?

because i can't change gpu+cpu+motherboard (tight budget)

I want to be able to play current gen titles like gta 5 and black ops 3 in 1080p 30fps (the more fps the better though ;))

i also want to play a lot of old titles (max payne 3,mafia 2....) i know it would run them on 1080p no problem but i have an eyefinity setup:

two 19" 1024p and one 24" 1080p

Would the r9 380 run old games on that eyefinity resolution?

Thank you for upcoming answers.

yes - quite a bit

But go for it anyway, you should be able to play those games.

Upgrade the CPU when you can

What power supply do you have?

Main PC |CPU - i7-6700k|GPU - R9 290x tri-x 4gb|RAM - 16gb ddr4|MOBO - MSI z170 - A PRO|HDD - WD 1TB/240gb Sandisk |PSU - 700w Raidmax

the R9 380 won't bottleneck your CPU, the CPU will bottleneck the R9 380.

I can't read

a q6700 gets about 11% better performance than the q6600, which bottlenecks a 250x to around half gpu usage. So massive bottleneck on the 380

in my region if i sold my q6700 + mobo i would only get 75 dollars and i don't know what other cpu + mobo i could buy with that

Suggestions?

Athlon X4 860K would be your best bet I think, the only thing that would be cheaper than that is the dual-core Pentium. And quad core is practically required in a lot of games now

idk if i can call it a "gpu" but.... gt 610 -_-

hmmm, your power supply might be a problem unless i get the exact model

you won't have trouble running those games because of the 380, but you might run into problems because your cpu might be too slow to keep up with demands with the newer games.... IE: you will have too much card for your cpu.............. but that's not necessarilty a bad thing.

if you buy the 380 you'll have a card to bring to your next platform upgrade whenever that will be.

i tried a 380 with a 5800k apu. i didn't get much better results running it with a 2gig 6950. too much card for the cpu. your q6700, believe it or not, is in the neighborhood of being the same performance.... kinda....with the 5800k... depending on what you are doing. therefor not worth an upgrade unless you do something related to what i said in my last post. ( i5 3.0 or better )

MAYBE next year, if you're set on AMD, and you have the money, their new cpu's might be worth the gamble and be competetive.....

ok so you think there will be no benefit upgrading from q6700 to fx 6300?

Then i should just get a r9 380 and keep my cpu?

FX 6300 > Q6700 by quite a bit
