Follow that. It applies to all boards with USB BIOS Flashback as a feature. Most important thing is a FAT32 formatted USB.

You can ignore that portion. They probably wrote that in the midst of the Devil's Canyon release when the 8 series boards couldn't post without the BIOS update. As a side note, you can use BIOS Flashback with only the CPU and PSU installed, it's not a requirement.

You can flashback with every component installed. Power off, insert the USB into the labeled port on the MOBO, hold down the button until it flashes, wait until the light turns off, power up the computer.

All I dad was format the USB to fat 32 download the file and renamed it for my asus ram page 5 which was like r5e.cap

You need to use the converter utility that should be within the "BIOS Utilities" subset here: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/RAMPAGE_V_EXTREME/HelpDesk_Download/

Bios Renamer for USB BIOS Flashback and Crashfree BIOS 2

1.Put Bios file and Bios renamer in same folder

2.Execute the Utility

3.Use new Bios file for USB BIOS Flashback.
