mouse button 3 is being difficult

so my mouse button 3 isnt working properly on my deathadder chroma. the scroll works fine and I can push down the wheel but I have to push pretty hard for it to register. This is a real pain in the butt when trying to work in blender. it worked fine last time I used it and I haven't changed any settings. do you know what could be happening?

When pressing hard, does it sometimes double click?

Have you got Razer Synapse installed?  If so completely remove it and see if this helps.
