networking issue

Go to solution Solved by Vitalius,

so i moved into an apartment that had cat-5e cables pre-installed in the walls... the other day i figured out how to use them to my advantage (finally). the issue im having is this... i (not having a network switch) used an old router as a network switch, my set up is this.    comcast modem/router --> tp link router (acting as switch) --> xbox one/gaming pc/a couple other points i felt i may use in the future

so i cant get my electronics that run on my wifi to communicate to the things plugged into the wall any more (ie. xbox controller on my phone, streaming content from laptop) how would i go about making sure this all works properly? (without using tp link router as a wifi source... it is in a metal box in the wall signal would be shit)

By saying "acting as a switch", you mean you disabled the TP Link router's DHCP server?

If you didn't, that'd be your issue. If you did, then I have no idea what would prevent those devices from seeing each other.
