A nice (preferably 4U) rackmount case?

Hi, I have a pretty powerful PC (Ivy Bridge i7 @  4GHz, 16GB of RAM (to be upgraded to 32), Radeon HD-6770 (yes, it's a piece of crap, to be upgraded to Titan Z)) and I have it in a terrible old case, that lacks the side-panel, 5" position covers and more, making it a perfect place for dust collection.

Since I have a few rack-mount appliances already, I was thinking about putting the PC in a rackmount case and just running the HDMI and USBs to my desk. The questions are following:

1. Is it generally a good idea, to put a dektop PC inside a rackmount case?

2. How long can a HDMI and USB cables be?

3. What case would you recommend (I wouldn't mind it being under $500)?

Thanks a lot.

1. I've done it :P

2. As long as you want.. more then youd need.

3. Use whatever one you like :) I use this one. But only because I had a ton of drives soooo probably not the best one for you. http://www.neweggbusiness.com/product/product.aspx?item=9b-1fr-000k-00021
