Hi Guys,

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet (if so please post me a link to the discussion). I have issues 100% of the time when lauching a demanding game (Black ops 3, far cry 4 or GTAV) while I have my second screen active with or without another program such as skype opened, allow me to elaborate: the game lauches but as soon as it finishes loading and I try moving forward, the game stops and I get a notification from windows saying "AMD display driver has stopped working". I have tried updating the driver to the latest patch on the AMD site but it doesn't change anything. The strange thing is the driver crashes rarely when I disable the second screen without any other program opened.

is there anything I can do to fix this or do I have to wait it out for W10 to become more compatible with the display drivers AMD provides?

for info I have :

Intel core i7 4790

16GB g-skill sniper RAM

MSI Radeon R9 390X 8GB version

and a MSI Z97 Gaming edition

any help will be appreciated.

CPU: Intel core i7 4790; MoBo: MSI Z97 Gaming edition; RAM: G-skill sniper series 16GB (2x8GB) 1866GHz; GPU: MSI Radeon R9 390X 8GB; Storage: Crucial 250GB SSD + WD 1TB HDD; PSU: Corsair CS 750; OS: Windows 10

What drivers do you have and have you tried reinstalling them?

I had had the same problem aswell. What I did to solve the problem was using DDU to delete the drivers of the GPU and installed them again from the manufacturers website. I'm sure it will solve your problem too because it's a common problem.

yeah I know it's a bit unstable at this stage.

DDU is Display Driver Uninstaller. To use that program you need to boot in to safemode and delete the drivers. if you download the program and open it, it will ask you to boot in safemode. Delete the driver in safemode and go back to your normal mode and reïnstall the driver there.

thanks for that, one last thing though did you uninstall the entire catalyst suite and use the version 15.7.1 catalyst suite or is there a link to directly download just the driver?

I deleted the entire catalyst suite. I reïnstalled the version 15.7.1 from this link: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+10+-+64

Note: Download the driver that is made for your Windows version. I think the 15.7.1 is compatible with all the Windows versions.

Low quality components. Max TEMP is 30C, so, if your PSU temp is higher than 30C. It'll shutdown your system.

Great thanks for the help I'll try that when I get home.

CS is the same as the CX. Small difference
