Logitech vs SteelSeries vs Razer

Go to solution Solved by Nexxus,

Oh :o So it's more for the stuff to look cool..If soo shoud i just get this combo? https://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/CM-Storm-Devastator-Gaming-Bundle-Keyboard--Mouse-RED-backlight/22997223 If it is basicially the same as my current micrsofot wireless stuff

its not JUST to look cool.

My keyboard is mechanical, those keys are frankly nicer to type on then the membrane logitech I use in bed. Mechanical are also more durable  it also has a mute and volume wheel on it, both of which are very convenient for me. I also like the premium feel of its aluminum finish, I also want some kinda keyboard with backlighting so my key caps are laser etched, because my WASD wore out on my old keyboard and that kinda thing drives me nuts. the only thing about my keyboard that makes it "look cool" is the RGB lighting (granted thats a pretty big thing and what made the keyboard about $70-$100 more then other mechanical keyboards)

As for my mouse im a bit particular with them. 1st off is the polling rate aka how often the mouse and computer communicate...if you are really looking to feel a difference you can feel the change in 250hz to say 1000hz. But unless you are super damn competitive in MP its not going to make a difference. but a higher polling rate will kill your battery quicker too, which brings me to my second point. I want a mouse that I can recharge easily and quick while still gaming with it, rather then being forced to "dock" it on a charging station or swap batteries mid game. Battery longevity is also a concern but frankly if you want a long lasting mouse battery you are better off with a cheap ass mouse since the low performance is less strain on the batt.

A big thing with my mouse though is convience, I like having the extra buttons, it makes things like web browsing, photo editing and gaming more convenient to me, and that matters more to me then the ...3ms less input delay over a cheaper mouse or it not being as "smooth" because of the lower polling rate.

I dunno about the thing you linked to personally so im not going to say get it. but I just say get what you can afford without breaking the bank, if you just need something to game on and dont need bells and whistles a $15 wired mouse and a $30 keyboard will be fine til you are in a position you can afford to get something more fancy.

Heyy! So i'm from New Zealand and so far this is the build i am looking at

Looking for CPU Cooler
Looking for power supply . Under  $150nzd

And i currently have a Microsoft wireless mouse 1000 and i play on a worn out magazine as my mouse pad :P

Soo is it worth getting a new mouse and this is what i am looking at... what is best

Is there really a need to spend like $80nzd on a mouse? like i really just need it to move and click for games like csgo, sleeping dogs..dayz...
and do keyboards matter much? for a mouse pad i am thinking of qck+

For casual play frankly a cheap mouse and keyboard are fine, anyone who tells you otherwise is full ofg themselves

THAT BEING SAID

higher end products are nicer, I say that as someone with a $200kb and $100 mouse.

Before the emotional responses come in, let's talk quickly about the facts.

  1. Razer DeathAdder Chroma. I'm Singaporean. Razer's CEO Tan Min Liang is also Singaporean. I supported his products in the early days till recently. Full Disclosure Over. Their products have issues with quality control. From time to time, hardware coughs up queer issues. Keyboards' key presses sometimes repeat even though your finger's off the button. Mouse can sometimes double click, and scroll wheels turn funny after a while. Their drivers can cause boot-time errors, can cause certain hardware combinations to BSOD, and even fail to install properly. There was a time when I discovered 24 copies of the first Mamba's drivers in my driver manager. Razer also does not support legacy products. At all. If you're someone who expects driver and firmware updates for the latest version of Windows 10 from a product you bought 2 years ago, then Razer is a terrible idea. Not to mention the disgusting price premium.
  2. SteelSeries Rival. These guys have a mixture of good and bad products priced at a premium for people living in New Zealand. If you check out the mouse reviews, bear in mind what they say about the shape and grip of the Rival. Do you really have hands that large? Try to get a mouse that you currently own, measure the dimensions, and then see if you want the Rival. People have also hated the mouse clicks on this mouse. There is also some mention of the problems with the sensor tracking compared to Logitech's offerings.
  3. Logitech G502. Honestly, if you're saving money, why are you spending it on this? The G303 is a superb lightweight medium-sized mouse for its price. Some even say it's better than the G502. Heck, it even has the PMW3366 sensor in it.

lol no.

my keyboard feels nicer and is prettier and better built then a $35 logitech...my mouse is wireless has some extra buttons which are handy as hell to have...but when im in bed i use a cheap ass wireless  logitech mouse and i do use it when gaming at times and frankly i feel no difference in how the mouse movement feels

so ya the cheap ass mouse would do the job just fine..but there are other reasons I got the higher end products for when im at my desk.

The specifications can be found on Google. Check it up.

And honestly, you don't need super expensive stuff. Consider what the guy above me just said and think about it.

This depends. Have big ass hands? SteelSeries Rival. (my brother owns one, it's really comfortable to use)

Want a good mouse but you have average hands? Logitech G502.

Want to waste your time? Razer DeathAdder Chroma

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!
