Hi Linus and anyone who reads this

I'm trying to connect my PS3 to 2 monitors via a HDMI Splitter (One monitor for me and the other for any guest who wish to play coop multiplayer games with me)

I have a monitor (ACER V203H) that is HDCP Compliant but it only offers VGA and DVI ports. Currently, I have a PS3 thats connected to my ASUS VG248QE monitor.

I managed to connect my PS3 to the ACER V203H monitor by using a HDMI to DVI adapter & scaling my output to just 720p which is still acceptable to me.

However, when I put a HDMI Splitter into the mix, My Acer V203H shows a black screen. My ASUS VG248QE is working fine though.

How can I get it working without having to purchase a new monitor?

I've attached a schematic on how I would like the end product to look like.
