Hi, planning to build an HTPC, I was wondering wether it can be used as an AV receiver for a full fledged home theatre speaker configuration ,if yes please suggest components. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Otherwise, $1500 is far too much to spend on an HTPC, you're more in the territory of a rather large NAS server, with a Plex Plug in under FreeNAS

If you were planning for blu rays, last I checked PCs actually have a hard time running blu rays, as you have to buy software to get them working

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...
