Objective 2 channel balance

I got myself an obejctive 2 odac+amp combo and it arrived today. I am a bit worried I might have gotten the monday version (as we say here in germany).

My channel balance seems far from perfect. My left ear gets a lot omre sound than my right ear. If I tunr songs down i can go as far as to sing along what I hear from my left while the right seems deadsilent.

I am using Bose AE2's for testing with a 4-contact-jack (with a mic included for mobile use). Is the extraordinary shape of my plug the problem or might it be the amp. Any other users experienceing something like that with their model.
