So basically the current situation is this:

I have my 770 and I need more VRAM for games to play the way I want them to play and I want a new card but its come down to I can either

A:  Sell my 770 now, wait out a period of time with no GPU, and save some money before I can get a 980.

B: Wait and take it up the ass with only 2GB of VRAM until something new comes around then sell my current card for something of the current time in the future.

The issue I see with B is that my card is just gonna continue to become more useless and lose its value in any resale market.

Help

(edit: srry i hit enter before it was done)

So I assume you mean like 3GB +?

Got a particular budget in mind? Maybe considering used stuff?

I'd go for an AMD card if VRAM is really the only thing holding you back in games. 980s are expensive and, since it seems you're buying this with your own money, I might get a used 290/x or 390 instead of a 980.

50% of the upgrade is me wanting the reference Nvidia cooler.

Also something to note about me, I recommend AMD, but I usually only buy Nvidia :S

Oh gotcha, heart wants what heart wants!

Well I wouldn't wait for the new Nvidia cards as the reference coolers are pretty old now. I'd go for a 970/980 with money saved up.

Looking into 980's

Hopefully I can find a buyer for my 770 for a good price.
