Don't get the Seagate HDD. (Look at my signature.)

I'm looking to do light gaming and video editing. So I thought I should go with the 8 core for video editing even though the 4460 has better single core performance.

Get a six-core and you'll be able to squeeze a R9 390x into your budget. Later on, if you really want that 8 core, you can get it.

I've had 3 Seagates die on me. Never had any other brand fail on me, even a no-name.

I guess we've had very different experiences.

I always recommend WD when buying a hard drive, but i've never had any problem with seagate. My boot disk is a seagate barracuda 500gb with over 14000 hours on it.

You know that guy that games on a MacBook? I'm that guy.

The study quoted in the article is about as valid as picking your family sedan based on the unmodified model that finished the Paris-Dakar rally first.

I've had 3 Seagates die on me. Never had any other brand fail on me, even a no-name.

I have had Seagates hdd die on me.

I have had WD hdd die on me.

I have had Hitachi hdd die on me.

I have had Maxtor hdd die on me.

I have had Quantum hdd die on me.

In fact I do not think there is a single hdd brand I have owned where I have not had at least one failure.

Some models of drives should be avoided. Like the Seagate 2TB Barracuda. Many years ago the WD 80GB drive was just as bad.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
