Look for the i5 6400 it should be cheaper and would still perform better than the i5 4460. Just keep in mind the the i5 6400 and 6500 don't have hyper threading as well.

Is Skylake really worth it? I found an i5 4460 which is very similiar but it has no hyper threading.

I live in poland and the 4460 is 700 pln and the 6500 is 800 pln ($1=3 pln, €1=4 pln)

The i5-6500 also lacks hyperthreading.

Well, I mistook turbo boost technology with hyper threading :P

And also, Will DDR3 work with 6500?

So do all the other i5 processors.

You don't think I'm already aware of this? By the OP's post it seemed as if he believed the i5-6500 has hyperthreading, so I made it clear to him that it doesn't as he's clearly already done his research on the other i5' s.

That depends on the motherboard. ASUS has one that is DDR3 compatible on the Z170 chipset, but I don't know about B110, B150, etc...

Well If the motherboard I wanna buy supports only DDR3 and has LGA 1511 then I could have guessed it would work.

Yes it will.

Intel heavily tries to discourage DDR3, but it will work if you can find a mobo for it.

Intel is trying to ween the tech community off of DDR3 for easier RAM compatibilities.
