Some random windows folder

it is the download folder for windows 10.

So i have a folder that's called $Windows.~BT and it says it was created the 10th of july and i was wondering if it's safe to delete it cause it's on my ssd and takes about 6 gb of space.

I use windows 8.1 and never had any other version nor upgraded to windows 10.

You accepted the upgrade thing.  It trickle downloads in the background so you don't have to wait to download it when you are ready to install it.

did you reserve your copy of windows 10? starting from next year microsoft is recategorizing windows 10 upgrade as a recommended update so even though you delete the folder it may appear again in 2016
