Hello all,

I recently just finished my first custom liquid cooling system, and promptly took it apart a week later because of a corrupt bios chip on my motherboard.  I had to send the motherboard back for RMA which meant i needed to drain my system.  As with many first time custom cooling loops, I did not adequately plan on a drain system for my loop.  Now that I have it all apart I would like to address this issue.  Since my pump is nearly the lowest part of my system I would like to install a drain valve on the 2nd g1/4 inlet port on my xspc photon res pump combo.   This seemingly simple task has left me with questions on what I actually need to buy.  I have found this  BitsPower Mini Valve which seems to be the valve I would like but I believe it has two female g1/4.  Is there then an adapter I need with two male ends so I can thread into the female inlet port on my pump?   Is there a simpler way of doing this?  My thought here is to have a valve off the pump with an extra fitting with say a foot of tube that I can skrew onto the valve to drain my system.

Thanks!

Since the XSPC Photon has multiple ports you can just connect the drain to one of the extra ones with the valve using this and cap the end of the valve until you want to drain the loop:
