GPU doesn't apply overclock

Hey guys, 

 

I tried to overclock my XFX R9 270X via MSI Afterburner, but upon clicking apply.. Well, it doesn't really apply. On first try it goes down from 1050 MHz to 1000 MHz core clock speed, but starting from there, no changes are applied, other than the Fan Speed. Memory clock stays at 1400 MHz. I tried overclocking it via AMD Catalyst Graphics Overdrive, but same result. Temps under load at stock speed max out at 71°C, other days I've had it run up to 75°C though. Overclocking via MSI Afterburner used to function just fine up until now and a re-install of the software doesn't fix it. Any ideas?

have you checked that drivers? maybe updated them recently without knowing?

Restart your computer and/or reinstall your drivers.
