1 ssd and 1 had.

My had died so I bought a new hard disk)(green, 1Tb) and put it in instead.

I've loaded the computer and it says 'boot failure, insert system disk.

I've tried to change the boot load, but it won't change. Here's my computer info:

· OS - Windows 8.1,

· x64

· What OS was originaly installed on the system? Windows

· full retail

· Age of system (hardware) got the computer in about 6 years, since then got a new ssd, graphics card, electric consumption.

· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? 4 months old since the new ssd.

· CPU model i7 930i

· Video Card model -gtx970 mink

· MotherBoard - ud3r x58a

· Power Supply - brand & wattage I think seasonic 650

· System Manufacture > don't know what's that mean.

· Laptop or Desktop? Desktop

Please help me :(

Thank you guys!

Just plug it in and start pc.

Press F12 to get in the bios. Change your bootdrive to the one where you've installed the Os.

No Os installed?

Watch this to get know how too:

I've tired that, but it still says boot failure :(

There's OS installed

Disconnect your HDD and see if the PC will boot into Windows with just the SSD installed. I assume that's your OS drive.

It does! :)

I've talked to a friend and he said that i need to install windows on the new hdd... I'm newb!

Ohh Just thought of Something:

Put the Bootdriver on the Sata1 connection on your motherboard.

It will always trie at the first one and then he goes to 2/3/4/5 etc..

That fixed it for me once.

Where's that located?

I would not install Windows on the HDD. It's a Green Drive and it is not optimized to be an OS drive. You have an SSD and it will much faster than a HDD so keep the SSD as boot.

Well then, I guess I have a problem.

If the ssd is alone / with the old HDD, the pc will load.

If the ssd is with the new hdd, it won't load.

I've tried the bootloader but it still won't load... I don't know what I'm doing wrong :(

Have you tried only having the SSD plugged in and seeing it Windows will load?

Have you tried swapping the Sata ports that the drives are plugged into?

The HDD might be plugged into a lower slot number, so the PC will try to boot from that

It's the Sata3 connection Sorry wasn't really clear.

You have 8 sata3 connections.

Put the cable (sata cable) In the one which says 0 or 1 (just the lowest)

Then put that cable in the SSD.

Note:

It should be Sata3. Not in the Sata2 connections.

I just changed the HDD from the old to the new, no ports were changed

I don't know I can't see it.

U can see it when u open up the case.

then look infront of the Sata3 slots.

U'll see some numbers like:

Sata[3][2]

Sata means what kind of port/connection

the 3 means which one: Sata300 or 200

the 2 means which number it is.

So your sata cable to the SSD should be in:

Sata[3][0] or Sata[3][1]

Just the lowest one.

Hope this helps a bit more.

The white Sata ports are for Sata3 devices. Those will run with 6gb/s instead of the white ones which are running at 3gb\s.

So make sure that your HDD and SSD are running on Sata3 or Sata2 ports(Sata3=White and Sata2=Blue).

When the SSD and HHD are running both at Sata3 connection:

Put the Boot drive(SSD or HDD) In the lowest Slot number.

The most right and the lowest is the one whose's the lowest. of The white ones ofcourse.

If they are running Sata2 put them in the blue ones. The most right and the one on the bottom is the one which the Mobo scans for first.

Here how the numbers are:
