So recently for some reason, when i tried installing a font, i got an error:

ec24fa33d1e8882fad80a00f5c110c3c.png

I've tried other fonts and got the same result.

Useful info:

-Yes i have tried to run it from a different drive.

-I use windows 10.

-I've installed fonts on this OS installation before and it worked.

Does anyone know how to fix this? i would really like to avoid having to reinstall the os..

Have you tried just extracting the file and then dragging it into the Fonts folder rather than trying to pull it straight out of the archive?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Just tried it, did not work. Same error stating that its not a valid font file.

The temp file is being deleted before it can install it...

That's not the case, i get the same error in any location.

Well, then the font file isn't valid? :D

Try some other font files...

That would be my guess then as well.

When i made the thread, i already said that i've tried other fonts..

You said you've installed other fonts and it worked.  All that means is that you can install fonts (there is nothing globally wrong with the system).  It does nothing to prove that this particular one is functioning.

As for other fonts having this problem, what leads you to believe that there is no possibility that they are also invalid? My point stands: the logic explored this far still allows for the possibility that this and other fonts you've tried are also invalid, as the error says.

I have also tried reinstalling fonts that i've installed before which have worked just fine for me.

And now they don't?  OK, now that is new information that makes a real difference! :)

Can you think of anything that has changed since then?

No, nothing has changed since..

But it is :)

Reread all the other comments. Until just then, you only said that A ) other fonts have given this error and B ) installation of fonts has worked before. Without specifically saying that fonts that used to work now do not, it leaves the possibility that this issue doesn't exist and that you may just be trying invalid fonts.

But anyways, by any chance have you disabled the windows firewall service? I know that sounds incredibly irrelevant but it has been known to interfere with font installation if it is turned off.
