PWM splitter

Go to solution Solved by TheRandomness,

It is possible to run up to 5 fans one single fan header, any over is too much. So, to answer the first part, 2 is fine. You can really just get the cheapest PWM splitter if you want.

Hey LTT community,

I wanted to know if I can use a 4pin PWM splitter that will give me the option to connect two fans (computer will detect it as one fan, but  both run at the same speed) and do I still get enough power throughput to run them possibly on max speed, because my case supports four fans and my mobo only has three case fan headers and I wanna be able to control them with e.g. a fan curve and such. If so, then which one would you recommend, if I decide to get one and new fans, then I am gonna order it from amazon.de!

Yours sincerely

As far as I remember, you can draw a maximum of 1A out of a single fan header. So unless you're running some kind of monster fans, you'll be easily able to run 2 of them using a splitter. :)

I know I'm running 3, using a custom made splitter (200mm and 2x 80mm, overall 0,85A) without any problems so far.

If you saw the new video I'd say about 3 fans is about right so no real need for 4 :P
