Hackintosh Server OS Install

okay so if I were to make a I guess the proper name for this idea is... hackintosh server, I would install the OSX operating system that is used for all mac computers and then... just buy the app and use it?... 

Correct.  You can also use the beta version of the app if you want to test it out first.

Hi, just wondering if installing a hackintosh server os to a built pc is any different or has any differences from installing it compared to a normal hackintosh os that's not a server one

I was planning on making a hackintosh server build and then installing the hackintosh server os onto it

 

would it be any different than installing a hackintosh PC os that's not a server type

Not sure what you mean by server OS. 

Unless you're talking about the OS that came on Xserve G3's and up...  OS X server is just an app now.

Not sure what you mean by server OS. 

Unless you're talking about the OS that came on Xserve G3's and up...  OS X server is just an app now. 

 

Isn't there a server OS for apple computers? Like there is one from microsoft and linux such as ubuntu server and windows server? Shouldn't there be an server OS from apple? Why is it an app?

It used to be a seperate OS, but now it's all once package, and the server side stuff is handled/enabled by a $20 app in the app store.

If you're looking to actually use the server stuff, that's your choice; if you were simply wondering if installing a "server os" vs a "regular os"  had any advantages/disadvantages. the answer is no, because there is no server OS.
