Almost done with this Master Audio build! I have a few topics I need addressed that I need some input on.

1. Gigabyte 980ti or Hybrid cooler 980 ti? - Which is more silent? Which is more stable?
2. 980ti now, or Wait for better cards later? (recommended card for meantime?)
3. Am I able to dial down the motherboard without affecting the performance? (need 64gb upgradable)
4. Case and suitable for proper silence and cooling?
5. Any additional cooling fans need?

All help is greatly appreciated :)

The only things I would question are

  1. Do you need that much highend SSD storage?
  2. Why a WD Red?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

I am a vst heavy user, On top of mastering, it can suck the life out of a computers responsiveness. Vst's are much more cpu and memory intensive than recording audio.

As far as I know, WD Reds are quieter and last longer.

Fair enough.  If you've got an actual reason for it, go for it. I just try to make sure people aren't getting something totally overkill because they don't realize it's overkill :)

All I know is the Reds are designed for NASes, so they are probably more reliable, yes, and have certain features to work optimally with RAID, etc.  but that does tend to increase the price just a hair.  I don't know if they're quieter or not, but if sound levels are a concern, it would appear you've got the budget for whatever you want, so I would consider SSDs in RAID0, just as a thought.  If not that, I would guess that the greens should be quite quiet as well.

It might be overkill xD but im not looking to take chances. not to mention this SSD should keep for quite some time. and keep everything in one sweet, fast spot.

Yes it should :)

And the only way you ever really take a chance is not having a backup, so do that regardless of what drive you are using.
