Okay guys, I am interested in seeing how much prices vary from country to country. I am personally not taking the very cheapest, as I don't like any other online stores than the norwegian Komplett.no due to their glorious support and due to the fact that it's like the first e-tailer I discovered, and I think it's the largest, most selling and all that jazz.

Anyway, to the topic: The cheapest 7970 I found that is not on some sort of offer, is the norwegian equivalent of 474 USD. It's the XFX 7970 Double Dissipation.

and also, check the ASUS 7970 DirectCU II TOP, which is 575 USD here.

(I just used google to find the currency, googled "2800 nok to usd" for the XFX one, and "3400 nok to usd" for the ASUS)

I am doing this because I am lazy, but I think everyone is a little interested in seeing the prices in different countries.

XFX is hot, do dont expect overclocking

Did you check prices on 770 or 760? Usually at retailers in EU, the prices on old hardware is higher than on brand new.

Also check prices on 7950, you may get one for considaribly less money, and overclockable to 7970 levels.

consider 7950/760 for around 2.300 norwegian krons, or 770 for 3.300

The xfx Double Dissipation edition is the cheapest in the uk at £265. I managed to get the Sapphire GHz edition for £230 off ebay.

Not that cheap in the UK either then.
