Does the Gigabyte Z87X-D3H support 5 case fans + CPU heatsink fan? 

 

If not does the UD3H support it? 

i5 4670K | Noctua NH-D14 | Z87 Gryphon + Armor Kit | ASUS R9-280X | Corsair 350D | Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB | Seagate Barracuda 1TB | XFX Black Edition 80+ Gold 750W | Dell P2314H

Gigabyte Z87X-D3H:

1 x CPU fan header

3 x system fan headers

 

Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H:

1 x CPU fan header

4 x system fan headers

 

and both of them have CPU opt fan header... so +1 connector for each board

You can always get a fan controller as well. Or as I do, use some molex to 3-pin adapters.

so even if i get the UD3H, it cannot support 5 case fans?

UD3H has 6 headers from which mobo regonizes 5. It also groups cpu&cpu_opt as one header. And fan headers 2&3. So you can set fan profile only for cpu+cpu_opt, sysfan1 and sysfan2&3. I hope they fix that in some bios update. Or else this will be last gigabyte mobo I buy.

 

E: and of course you can put case fan in any of 5 extra connectors. One doesn't have any controller but it runs.
